Hydraulic mechanical governors are designed with a self-contained oil pump and oil tank. The pump is driven by the turbine main shaft and the pump generates high oil pressure, hence increasing the torque to operate the different torque steam valves. The components are also small in size. Hydro mechanical governors are highly reliable and can be understood and serviced by expert mechanical personnel. Periodic service extends the governor's life beyond 50 years or until the turbine discarded or damaged. Mostly used woodward Governors model UG 8, UG 40, PGPL , TG-13, TG- 17, Actuators TG-13E, TG-17E, Europa Governors model 1102,1104,1131,1141, EHP-34 and Russion Governor model OPH -30.

Most hydro-mechanical governors have been obsolete by manufacturers and electronic governors are being introduced. The life cycle of electronic governors is shorter than that of hydro-mechanical governors. No one can fix electronic governors. The model and design of electronic governors are improved every year. When the problem occurs, the customer has to spend a lot of money to buy new improved model electronic governors for the old turbine. We retrofit our governors that need replacing mechanical governors and obsolete Hydro-Mechanical Governors.
